DRIVERS in Texas were stunned when the sky prematurely darkened after it filled with hundreds of squawking birds.

 

 

Every year thousands of birds descend on the southern state while on their migration

They seem to swoop on the Dallas Fort Worth area towards the end of October and hang around well into the New Year.

The latest footage filmed in Mesquite, Texas, 18 miles from Dallas, has sparked comparisons to Alfred Hitchock’s horror masterpiece “The Birds”.

The foul are grackles that flutter down to Texas for the winter.

In October NBC Dallas reported that the birds had arrived.

Alysha Singleton told the channel “We have to run and dodge them and their poop — bad, bad, bad!”

The 1963 thriller from the “Master of Suspense” focuses on a series of sudden and unexplained violent avian assaults.

The film stars Rod Taylor and Tippi Hedren, in her screen debut, supported by Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette and Veronica Cartwright.
