Woman lies about why she’s late for work – but is caught in epic Photoshop fail

We all know it’s wrong to lie, but occasionally a little white lie doesn’t do too much harm.

However one woman’s fib to her boss about why she was running late for work soon spiralled out of control.

The woman’s colleague, Sydney Whitson, took to social media to share the bizarre tale of what happened.

The unnamed woman called in to work one morning to say that she was having car troubles (we’ve all been there). She claimed that there was a nail stuck in her tyre and she had a flat because of it.

To support this claim, she then fired off a photo of a nail in a tyre to her boss – but it wasn’t quite what it seemed.

On closer inspection of the photo, it’s clear to see the image has been Photoshopped.

In a post on Twitter , Whiston recalled the hilarious incident and shared the photo in question.

She wrote: “My coworker called in (yet again) and said she had a nail on her tyre that caused her to have a flat.

“I need everyone to stop what they’re doing and ZOOM IN TO THE NAIL IN THE PICTURE SHE SENT MY BOSS.”

Her tweet quickly went viral, with over 244,000 people liking it and over 44,000 retweeting it.

Thousands also commented on her post, sharing their reactions.

One replied: “Girl that tyre isn’t even real lmao.”

“Yep. That’s what happens when you drive through construction zones in Toon Town,” joked another.

“Hahaha! I think she nailed it,” said a different user.

A fourth person added: “She did what she had to do.”

Others shared photos of actual tyres with real nails stuck in them that would have been a better choice to send the boss, while someone else had some words of wisdom for those planning to try this trick out for themselves in the future.

They explained: “A tip for those saving real pics to use one day. If your boss is smart enough and if they have an iPhone (idk if it’s the same for Android)…if you save a pic to your photos that someone sent, it’ll show you the time and date when u find it in your photos.”
